 For its come back Laverda with the 650  then the 668  produce a motorbike with big engine problem, strongly inspired from its twin cylinder 500 double overhead camshaft in the 1980 (look at Montydons) , it appears quickly exaggerated oil consumption (higher than 1 liter/1000km), Montydons best expert and preparer of the 500 twin cylinder seems to have found the modifications to be made. But those modifications are very expansive (cylinder head, cylinder...).

With the 750 liquid cool arrival ,it let hope for an improvement and it seems that this engine is more reliable. Moreover the Laverda factory always worked for the improvement of this engine (crankshaft type 1 to type 3, different camshafts…)

Nevertheless, the Laverda factory financial problems made that all was stopped after the Laverda sale to Aprilia in 2000 !

Today the Laverda future isn't clearly seen. Aprilia was sold to Piaggo and the new Laverda 1000 SFC project is dead.  Luckily, these motorbikes survives only with enthusiast dealer like Alto performance, Enzo, Octeam….

All that seems a large waste, because these motorbikes are really in the line of "Laverda Breganze 1000 and 750 spirit", best cycle part, top brakes with an engine of character.

 

 

We can blame the engine, because below 3000 rpm there's nothing, then it pushes vigorously until the red zone.

 

 

In total there are about 5000 zané bikes sold, 2000 750's and about 3000 650,668's.

50 bikes 650 café racers 1998, 4 bikes 750 café racers (black strikes) & 2 750 supersport (1 blue 1 grey)  2000.

This Laverda is very sharp, handy, light, all the opposite of an RGS Corsa !
