First there is 3 improvements to do on this motorbike to release all it's potential:
Replace the origin air filter by KN filters or by air tube with gauze.
Release the origin exhaust by a collector box 3 into 1 or by open version silencers.

Replace the original ignition (Bosch) wich is very poor quality by a new generation ignitin like DMC Witt (Haerter) or better the IIS of John Wilson.

Replace the ignition coil especially if you have Motoplat, by Dyna DC1 (expensive !) or by Tec KPO3 (original coil on kawasaki ZZ 250), take the oportunity to improve your hight tension lead by magnécor cable 7mm.
Use spark plug type NGK B8ES or better Denso Irridium IW 27.
Replace the original shock absorbers (the French lmporting put Koni in place of Marzocchi), on my bike i have koni sport. It's also possible to improve with Fournalès, or Progressives Suspension, there are a lot of possibilities.
It's very difficult to find new Brembo discs (gold series), so you need to "up grade" with EBC brakes for exemple. You can replace the original brake hose by steel brake hose.
For the maintenance I have nothing to say more than Jean Louis Olive on Laverdamania. I use only 100% synthétic oil for my engine.
